Réunion Island for 2018!

The scoop have been announced while the closing ceremony of this 2017 edition: The Adventure Racing World Championship 2018 will be organized by Raid in France on la Reunion island, in november!

Nathan Faavae, from New Zealand, star of the ARWS world ranking and adventure races, already talked about this subject: “Now that AR is 30 years old, it’s rare to hear a race venue that forces me to open the atlas -where is that again? Reunion Island is one of those places. I truly believe this race will be an opportunity of a lifetime for any adventure racer worth their salt. It’s volcanic and tropical, rippling inland from white sand beaches and coral reefs to awe-inspiring forested mountains thrusting to the sky. Not only is the landscape exceptionally dramatic, with hikeable live volcano Piton de la Fournaise, the tropical ecosystem produces flora and fauna in a dazzling array of colors.”

Pascal Bahuaud, race director, declared: « Raid in France is an authentic race looking for an autonomy for racers, respecting natural territories of our country. Our will is to stay the closest of non-stop adventure : an immersion and a discover, in autonomy or by team, as an expedition. What more magic could  we expect that this island of La Reunion for a tenth edition of Raid in France, for the Adventure Racing World Championship!
