The racers put to a hard test

Due to tiredness, certain teams are finding the going hard and spirits are somewhat low. Several abandons today on this Raid in France.  Time differences are expanding and 400Team Naturex, one of the world’s top teams, is leading, concentrating on their objective.  The winning team will insure their place for the World Championship final in Paraguay.

An epic day and night on this Raid in France with most of the teams progressing at high altitude and on the mountaineering section, la Petite Aiguille des Glaciers.
The first two days have paid a heavy toll.  The racers are accumulating ascents and descents and are suffering from both the heat and the cold.  The start of this race has plunged them into adventure racing in its most extreme form: deep immersion in nature along with some difficult conditions.
At the end of the afternoon, the strategic CP4 (the Robert Blanc refuge hut, situated at 2750 metres below L’Aiguille des Glaciers, had seen all of the teams pass who had undertaken the glacier section. The last to pass was Team Belgium, their Captain Daniel Masy has participated in all of the Raid in France races.  A total of 32 teams had the pleasure of entering the refuge hut and continuing the entire course. They still have a large portion of trek in the high mountains to do and the weather forecast is bad…

Due to their late arrival at the Ouillon Pass, 6 teams were shunted (Cut A), missing the glacier section and went directly to CP 5 at the Col de la Croix du Bonhomme. Compliance with the Raid in France rules, sees these teams at the bottom of the rankings as priority is given to those teams who have completed the entire original race course. These teams are Team Bois Raid (10), Les Goyaves Roses (32), ND2BR (36), Annecy Aventure (11), Mecjit (12), and Tea-Roc (27). Two other teams, victims of the abandon of a team member today, are continuing with 3 racers (so no longer classed in the rankings) : Sud Raid (9) and Issy Absolu Occitanie (24). Unable to eat or drink, Jérôme Cadilhac (team 24) was taken back to Bourg Saint Maurice by the organisation and is now resting. Adrien Rofidal (team 9) has also been brought back to Bourg and is resting.
