Rif Spirit: the Swedish team, current world champion, will be competing!
Swedish Armed Forces Adventure team, 2021 World Champion, will be aligned for Rif Spirit, French round of the Adventure Racing European Series, from April 1st to 3rd, in Haute-Loire.
The 151km and 3 200m of elevation gain will be covered by 3 activities (9 sections overall): MTB 79km, trek 39km and Kayak 33km. 60 European teams will be competing on this exclusive track. Among them, Swedish Armed Forces Adventure, recently entitled adventure races World Champions, during the ARWS final in Spain in October 2021.
ARWS brings together 17 worldwide adventure races with: South Africa, Argentina, Australia, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, Ecuador, Spain, France (represented by Raid in France), Great Britain, India, Japan, Malaysia, Panama, Paraguay, Sweden, and the USA.
“Rif Spirit track will be as challenging and unexpected, as its host department Haute Loire is. This territory is unique and 100% outdoorsy. We already experienced it in 2015 with Raid in France and are very keen on coming back for Rif Spirit, explains Pascal Bahuaud, race director. Teams will gravitate around Lavalette Lake, between 400m of altitude and 1400m, in a region with outstanding views and a wild nature. They need to watch out for a special ingredient that may add some challenge: snow!”
