The race finally revealed

The organisation team just disclosed Raid in France’s 2017 edition program: one prologue, 13 sections representing 43 kilometers and 10.890 meters of positive gain. The estimated time is 74 hours for the first teams and 111 hours for the last ones. This will be a true “Back to nature” edition in the wild Ardèche territory. After the swim-run prologue composed of 4 swimming sections and several running parts, racers will start the first mountain biking section, treacherous and in orientation, with a long descent towards southern Ardèche.
After that, teams will go through a water trekking, a kayaking section involving some portages and a mountain biking transition across mid-mountain and forest areas, before a second long kayak portion (51 kilometers) characterised by specific regulations because of fish breeding locations.
At this point, racers will enter protected natural areas with a 33 kilometer-long trek; these areas implying the ban of night progression. It is also for them the opportunity to cross a beautiful cave and to take part in an abseiling section predicted spectacular, regarding the amazing surrounding landscapes. Amazing passages on ridges are expected, after a previously unseen final during of Adventure Racing World Series (ARWS) events: the crossing of the Devesset lake, sailing.
